Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SheetClean add-in and website ("Service") operated by SheetClean ("we", "our"). By using our Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

SheetClean is a data cleaning add-in for Google Sheets that provides:

Quick actions: Deterministic data cleaning operations (trim, format, validate, deduplicate) that are free and unlimited on all plans.
AI-powered operations: Text extraction, classification, name normalisation, and other AI-driven features that consume cells from your monthly quota.

2. Accounts

You must create an account to use SheetClean. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide a valid email address.

3. Billing and Subscriptions

SheetClean is a paid service with no free tier. All payments are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all invoicing, tax compliance, and payment processing on our behalf.

Plans:

Starter: $5.99/month or $59.90/year — 50,000 AI cells/month
Pro: $9.99/month or $99.90/year — 250,000 AI cells/month
Business: $24.99/month or $249.90/year — 1,000,000 AI cells/month

Cell counting: One cell equals one row multiplied by one column involved in an AI operation. For example, selecting 500 rows and 3 columns for extraction consumes 1,500 cells. Quick actions do not consume any cells.

Yearly billing: Yearly subscriptions include 2 months free (equivalent to a 17% discount). Yearly quotas are the monthly quota multiplied by 12.

4. Refund Policy

Refunds are available only if you have consumed less than 10% of your monthly cell quota and request a refund within 30 days of your billing period start date.

Starter: Refund eligible until 5,000 cells used.
Pro: Refund eligible until 25,000 cells used.
Business: Refund eligible until 100,000 cells used.

After exceeding 10% usage, you may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops your next charge, and you retain access until the end of your current billing period. No pro-rated refunds are issued for partial periods.

Yearly subscriptions: Refunds are available only within the first 30 days AND if less than 10% of the annual cell quota has been consumed.

Refunds are processed by Paddle. Please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement.

5. Cell Quota and Limits

Your cell quota resets at the start of each billing period. Unused cells do not roll over. When your quota is reached, AI operations are blocked until the next period. Quick actions remain available regardless of quota status.

We display a pre-flight check before each AI operation showing how many cells will be consumed, so you always know before proceeding.

6. Data Handling

Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data. Key points:

We only access the cells you explicitly select for processing.
Quick actions are processed on our server without external API calls.
AI operations send data to Google Gemini API for processing.
Extraction results are automatically deleted after 30 days.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any illegal purpose.
Attempt to circumvent cell quotas or billing mechanisms.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
Use the Service to process data you do not have the right to process.
Share your account credentials with others.
Use automated tools to access the Service beyond normal add-in usage.

8. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service depends on third-party providers including Google (Sheets API, Gemini API) and Paddle (payments). Downtime caused by these providers is outside our control.

9. Limitation of Liability

SheetClean is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any data loss, business interruption, or damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time through Paddle. We may terminate your account for violation of these Terms or for non-payment. Upon termination, your data will be deleted according to our retention policy.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
